This review describes the available Bikram yoga literature in order to better understand the effects of this form of exercise and to suggest ways to improve future research in this field. Topics that have not yet been investigated include the effects of Bikram yoga on the physiological markers of stress, cognition, depression and anxiety, inflammation, QoL, and behaviour change. Additionally, further investigation into the acute effects of Bikram yoga practice would deepen the understanding of the physiological adaptations.
